PALOMINO MIDGE

Materials List

  1. Hook - Tiemco 2487 size 20,20
  2. Thread - Black 8/0 Uni-Thread or Danville
  3. Wing - White CDC feather
  4. Bennechi midge chenille
  5. Thorax - Rabbit fur

Tying Instruction

  1. Tie the thread to the hook-Attach the fine chenille at the bend of the hook with the desired extension.
  2. Tie in the CDC feather-with the tips pointing over the back of the midges extension.
  3. Dub the thorax portion of the fly-be careful not crowd the hook eye. LEAVE ROOM. Pick out dubbing a bit for more bug-like resemblance.
  4. Pull CDC feathet tips over thorax body and fasten down at hook eye-Pull tips back from the hook eye and apply proper whip finish or half hitches.
  5. Apply small amount of flame to tail end of extension.
