MATERIALS LIST

1. Hook - Any 2x long or 3x long nymph or streamer hook.
   
   
2. Thread - Black 6/0 Uni-Thread.
   
   
3. Body - Purple Krystal Flash
   
   
4. Wing - Brown to grey rabbit fur and red Krystal Falsh.
   
   
5. Head - Spun and clipped deer hair.

TYING INSTRUCTION

1. Insert a hook in the vise, secure the tying thread and build a good thread base well into the hook's bend.
   
   
2. Body - Secure several 5 or 6 strands of purple Krystal Flash at the rear of the thread base and wrap forward 2/3 hook's shank length, secure with tying thread and trim the excess Krystal Flash.
   
   
3. Wing - Cut a one eigth pencil sized clump of long rabbit fur and attach with tying thread at the front of the body on top of the fly and trim the excess rabbit fur butts. Attach with tying thread 3 0r 4 wing length strands of red Krystal Flash at the front of and at the side the wing on either side. Trim any excess K Flash butts.
   
   
4. Head - Spin a pencil sized clump of deer hair at the front of the wing. Pull the unclipped deer hair back, build a small thread head, whip finish and cement if you like. Clip the spun deer to a thin tapered shape.

   ADDITIONAL NOTES

   The Dynomyte Shad Fly, originated by Wayne Holdaway of Whittier Heights, California, comes to the Pattern Book via Milt Garb of Rowland Heights California. Milt says "Used anywhere fish are feeding on shad. Dynomite Fly!". Looks like a fly that will do well anywhere fish feed on bait fish.
